The Good Ground Seed Library will be unveiled on March 8th at 6:30pm at the Hampton Bays Public Library on Ponquogue Avenue.
Following the unveiling, at 7:00pm, ECI will present • Restoring Good Ground: Sowing Seeds of Change
The Ecological Culture Initiative is creating a seed library at the Hampton Bays Public Library. As part of our Good Ground Restoration Project, the seed library will house more than 1,000 varieties of heirloom seeds. Small seed packets will be organized and housed in a reclaimed card catalog donated by Long Island University’s Post Campus. All of the seed packets will have directions on how to grow the plants. Workshops on germination, plant husbandry and seed saving will be offered in Hampton Bays by ECI as part of an Organic Garden Certificate Program offered by the Ecological Culture Initiative in partnership with the LIU Post Center for Sustainability.
